The Shady Shores Community Event Committee Needs Your Help!
Join us Sept. 11 in welcoming the Texas Baptist Men Volunteers to Shady Shores. They will be in town for two weeks to construct the Activities Hall at the Shady Shores Baptist Church. Shady Shores Road in Denton will be closed at the crossing starting June 14 and lasting six weeks. This will allow workers to make improvements to the crossing grade and install rail for DCTA’s A-train passenger rail. The A-train railroad will connect Denton to Carrollton and will provide another transportation choice in Denton County. The Lake Cities Library now has access to Learning Express. Click here to read about this new service to the community. It is a great resource for practice tests and study guides for a variety of professions, and for GED tests. Accounts can be set up In the library with any user name and password. Outside use requires a library card number. Summer reading club starts June 10. Click here for the brochure.
The Denton County Public Works department is working with Upper Trinity Regional Water District and has created 100 Vouchers for Household Hazardous Waste Disposal to be handed out on a first come first serve basis. Residents will need to pick up a voucher and to specify to which location they will take their items. We will be updating our websites as more dates are available. The Town of Shady Shores is governed by a council of 5 aldermen and a mayor. The town’s office hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 2-5 pm at the Shady Shores Community Center, located at 101 South Shady Shores Road. Burn permits are issued on Fridays. The office number is 940-498-0044. Municipal Court is held the first Wednesday of each month. The Municipal Court business hours are 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. The phone number for the Municipal Court is 940-498-0048. The town's e-mail is shadyshores@centurytel.net

The Town Council meets on the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. The Planning and Zoning Commission meets on the second Thursday evening of each month at 7 p.m. Both meetings are held at the Community Center.
