The Town of Shady Shores is governed by a council of 5 aldermen and a mayor. The town’s office hours are 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Shady Shores Community Center, located at 101 South Shady Shores Road. Burn permits are issued on Fridays, after 2 p.m. The office number is 940-498-0044.

The Town Council meets on the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. The Planning and Zoning Commission meets on the second Thursday evening of each month at 7 p.m. Both meetings are held at the Community Center.
