Keep Shady Shores Beautiful is an Affiliate of the Statewide Keep Texas Beautiful Program.  The main goal of the program is to promote, sponsor and support programs that will keep our community clean and our lake free from toxic chemicals trash and debris while protecting our natural habitat and overall beauty of the community. The Keep Shady Shores Beautiful board  will work with the Chamber of Commerce, local businesses, schools, and individuals to develop programs that support the overall goals of the program and provide community education.  

Some projects that Keep Shady Shores Beautiful has been involved with in the past are:

Milkweed seed distribution to encourage Monarch Butterfly population growth.

Adopt a Spot Shady Shores

Coordination of annual clean up events such as Trash Bash etc. 

Working with Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and other youth organizations to clean and maintain shore line
Development of Education programs to encourage recycling and litter prevention with local schools and civic organizations.

Keep Shady Shores Beautiful and Shady Shores Community Events is sponsoring the sale of memorial bricks.  Bricks can be purchased in memory of or in  honor of a loved one.  The bricks will be placed in the memorial garden which is now under construction at Town Hall.  Bricks can be purchased for $25 each.  Choose the appropriate form and submit to Wendy Withers or drop them off at town hall.  You may pay online or in the office.

The Adopt-A-Spot program is intended to showcase our residents' commitment to love of community and natural beauty, by providing opportunities to keep the Town of Shady Shores Beautiful.

There are a variety of ways to participate:
Individuals, Families, Youth Groups, Neighborhood Homeowner Associations, Hiking and Biking Enthusiasts, Scouts Groups, Schools and Special interest Clubs,Business, Non-profit groups, or any combination of groups listed above with a willingness to keep our community attractive and litter free.

Suggested Projects Include:
Litter control
Tree Plantings
Beautification and landscaping
Special Projects upon approval

There is a minimum one (1) year commitment.  Participants must complete a minimum of six (6) clean-ups for litter control area. Properly maintain the Adopt-A Spot Area for tree plantings, beautification and landscaping. All Participans must review the Rules for participation and sign the Hold Harmless Agreement.

Group Leaders will need to attend a Safety Training and Orientation.
