A Special Election will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of Shady Shores Texas, the question of increasing the local sales and use tax rate by 1% . This proposed increase would change the existing sales and use tax rate from 1% to 2%

Revenue from the proposed quarter-cent sales and use tax increase would be allocated to the Town of Shady Shores General Fund. The Shady Shores Town Council has identified the need for additional funds to pay for services that include police, fire, the maintenance and beautification of Shady Shores, public works, special community events, and infrastructure improvements.
